TENS 6000 Review - Details Regarding This Device

Introducing the TENS 6000

This Tens 6000 review will explore everything we know about this particular device. It is another unit by Roscoe Medical, along with the TENS 3000 and the TENS 7000.

We have already reviewed the TENS 3000 and TENS 7000 Tens devices. In this review, we will have a look at the Tens 6000 features and also compare it to the Tens 3000 and Tens 7000.

Other TENS 6000 TENS Units

Just to clarify, there are other Tens units, like mpo 6000 Tens unit, American bantex Tens 6000 and the mh6000 Tens, but what we are talking about in this review is the model TENS-6000BN by Roscoe Medical.

TENS 600 - Product Features

Five Modes/Programs

5 Pre-set TENS Modes

Altogether this unit is equipped with five modes or programs. They are: Normal (N), Burst (B), Modulated Rate/Width (MRW), Strength Duration (SD), and finally Bi-Pulse.

The frequency of the Burst mode is fixed, but the other four modes may be adjusted.

By comparison the TENS 3000 only has three modes, and the TENS 7000 is about equal to the TENS 6000 with five.

Dual Channels

Dual Channel & Use with two Pads or four Pads

The unit possesses dual isolated channels. Both of the other units mentioned in this review, the TENS 3000 and the TENS 7000, are also dual channel tens devices. Most decent quality tens units will have two separate channels by which you can adjust the settings.

Intensity Levels

The pulse intensity is adjustable, and so is the pulse width and frequency on this electro stimulation machine.

The amplitude can be adjusted from 0-40V, and the pulse can be be adjusted from 60 to 250 microseconds. The pulse frequency can also be changed, which is just another way of saying the pulse speed. It is adjustable from 2-150 pulses per second.

The timer is also pretty versatile. It can be set to 5 - 90 minutes and then it will auto-shutoff or, if you prefer, you can select Continuous, in which case the device will just keep running. As always, I urge caution when using a device on continuous, as it could lead to certain problems.

Personally I think it is great to have so many different ways in which to customize a tens unit. Everyone is different and often times one size does not fit all, so this gives you the chance to personalize each therapy session. This is a quality that the TENS 7000 and TENS 3000 also share.

Simple to Use and Operate

This portable digital tens unit comes with a digital controller, four main buttons, and instructions, all of which can make the device a little easier to use. Obviously you do not have to worry about a bunch of different buttons to learn. There are only a few, so this makes things simple and uncomplicated.

The LCD screen displays almost everything you need to know, such as pulse width, pulse rate, stimulating mode, and the timer. When the timer is on the final five minutes it will begin to flash in order to alert you.

Also like the TENS 7000 and the TENS 3000, the TENS 6000 machine comes with a cover to protect you from accidentally bumping the knobs and readjusting the settings. From what I have heard the 3000 and 7000 both seem to be pretty easy to use as well.

Dimensions and Mobility

Roscoe Medical TENS-6000BN - Size Comparison

The TENS 3000 and TENS 7000 both come with a carrying case, and fortunately so does the TENS 6000. This definitely makes any tens machine more portable, as it allows you to safely store and tow the machine wherever you go.

The dimensions of the machine are 3.74 x 2.36 x 0.98 in. Without the battery the unit only weighs 0.2 lbs or 90 grams. Clearly it is relatively small as well as lightweight. Units such as this are perfect for easy mobility. It is essentially the same size as its counterparts, the TENS 7000 and TENS 3000.

One 9V Battery

This tens pain relief machine runs on one 9V battery. From what I have read the battery is supposed to last about 70 hours, which is a pretty amazing battery length. If you used the unit for half an hour each session it would last for 140 different sessions.

There are no reviews that attest to this fact, at least that we have seen, so this isn't something we are positive of. The TENS 7000 is said to have a battery life of about 10 hours, so 70 seems to be a little optimistic and might be an exaggeration.

Included Accessories

Roscoe Medical TENS-6000BN - Accesories

As you already know, the TENS 6000 comes with a carrying case. Aside from that, when you receive the unit you will also get 2 Lead Wires, 4 Self-Adhesive Electrodes, one 9-Volt Battery, and of course the Tens 6000 Manual. This is basically what you will get when you purchase the TENS 3000 or the TENS 7000.

Warranty

Roscoe Medical TENS-6000BN - 2 Year Warranty

According to the website this device has a two year manufacturer warranty, which is sort of surprising because the TENS 3000 and TENS 7000 only have a one-year warranty, and these devices are sold by the some company.

Tens 6000 Price

The TENS 6000 isn't available at a lot of places, in fact, it can't be found on amazon.com or amazon.ca for canada, or any other big online stores. It can be found on otcwholesale.com for $51.95 and newegg.com for $39.99.

Since the TENS 3000 and TENS 7000 are more popular you might be able to find a better deal, as they often run quite cheap.

With any of these units you will also have to pay for replacement pads and fresh batteries.

Customer Reviews

There has been virtually nothing written about this model and there are pretty much no Tens 6000 reviews to reference. I am not sure why the machine is so mysterious, but overall it looks like a good choice and we definitely know that the TENS 3000 and the TENS 7000 were well received.

TENS 6000 - Conclusion

Ultimately the TENS 6000 looks like a pretty good device. It has a lot of the same features as the TENS 3000 and the TENS 7000 along with a pretty good price tag.

TENS 6000

The Bottom Line

We would recommend the TENS 7000 over the TENS 6000, however, for a few different reasons, although they all seem to be good pain relief devices. Aside from the fact that you may be able to get a better price on the TENS 7000, it is newer, and there are plenty of positive reviews backing it up. From what we have seen the TENS 7000 is one of the best home tens units.
